Detroit Lions Practice Field

MBC supported Phase I reconstruction of the Lions practice field by providing SESC support, stripping topsoil and excavating the new fields to subgrade.  MBC crews installed silt fencing and a construction entrance to control site runoff and tracking of materials off the site.  After removing sod from the existing practice fields MBC stripped topsoil and excavated to subgrade for the new fields and access walkways.  An extensive irrigation and underdrain system was installed along with 18” of planting materials and specialized athletic field turf.

  • Strip Topsoil: 5,021 Cyd
  • Excavate/Grade Subgrade: 9,650 Cyd
  • Truck and Dispose of Spoils: 13,670 Cyd

The project was on a fast-track, MBC completed most of our work over a two week stretch in late February and early March 2017.  Future phases will include additional parking and site improvements aimed at heightening the fan experience at the practice facility.
