3/31/11: Miller Bros. Const. Inc. Wins National Award

Congratulations to Miller Bros. Const. Inc. of Archbold for winning AGC's 2011 National Construction Safety Excellence Award. Miller Bros. representatives accepted the award on March 23, 2011 during the Safety Awards Breakfast held in conjunction with AGC's Annual Convention in Las Vegas. Miller Bros. earned first place in the Highway Construction category of 300,000 to 700,000 work hours.

AGC's Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA) program is the industry's elite safety excellence awards program for companies of all sizes and occupational divisions. CSEA recognizes companies that have developed and implemented premier safety and loss prevention programs and showcases companies that have achieved continuous improvements and maintenance of their safety and health management systems.

Contractors must be nominated for the CSEA by their home chapter. The OCA nominated Miller Bros. because of their excellent safety performance. They have won OCA's annual Jerry Keller Memorial Safety Award for the past two years. The company also had to submit a one-page description of why they should receive the safety award, and a two-page description of their safety and health program.

During the AGC Convention, finalists were required to make an oral presentation to a panel of professional industry judges. During the rigorous process, companies were judged upon an overview of the company's safety program, how employees are involved in safety, resources utilized to promote safety, management's commitment to safety, and unique activities the company does to promote a safety culture.

Again, congratulations to the employees and management of Miller Bros. Const. Inc. for winning this prestigious national award, and for their commitment to the principles that help make our industry safer and more productive.
