Summary:
POSITION/TITLE: Traffic Control Foreman
This position will place heavy emphasis on field direction, monitoring, and assessment of Maintenance of Traffic (M.O.T.) responsibilities. The successful candidate will possess written documentation verifying their Workzone Traffic Supervisor (W.T.S.) certification from the Ohio Department of Transportation. The position will be a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment that requires multi-task abilities along with an initiative taking mindset. This is a long-term position which will serve markets in the Toledo, OH and Southeast Michigan areas.
Responsibilities:
- Direct Responsibility for monitoring traffic control deficiencies for work zones which includes the following;
- 24 Hour Availability for Emergency Traffic Control needs within 1 hour of notification.
- Attend Progress Meetings
- Available for meetings and/or discussion of M.O.T. related items within 36 Hours of initial notice.
- Be aware of and coordinate all traffic control operations including those of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate project activities with all Law Enforcement Officers (L.E.O.) and serve as the main contact for the L.E.O.’s.
- Coordinate meetings with all stakeholders prior to planned traffic switches to discuss work zone traffic control.
- Ensure compliance with all contract documents regarding M.O.T. zones and associated traffic control devices and facilitate corrective action when needed.
- Monitor the appearance of Work Zone Traffic Control devices for cleaning and maintenance.
- Perform 7 day a week inspections and monitor the effectiveness of work zones. Based on contract requirements, possess the ability to perform inspections during the day and/or night.
- Complete ODOT CA-D-8 long term inspection and submit it to the ODOT Engineer of record.
- Verify all Flagging operations are conducted per the MUTCD.
- Utilize and Possess the ODOT Temp. Traffic Control Manual and applicable standards and specs included in the contract documents at all times.
Experience: Three (3) to Five (5) Years of Public Highway Experience installing, monitoring, and correcting Work Zones on Interstates, State Highways, City Streets, and County/Twp. Roads.
